As a health service provider, we treat all client information as Sensitive Information requiring the highest level of protection.

We collect information primarily from you, the client, including through:

  • Session notes taken during appointments.

  • Electronically: Secure, encrypted, and password-protected practice management software

  • Physically: secured filing cabinets within a secured premises

3. Purpose of Collection, Use, and Disclosure

We collect and use your personal information solely for the purpose of:

  • Providing therapeutic assessment, counselling, and coaching services.

  • Communicating with your nominated GP or referrer, but only with your explicit written consent (via a Release of Information form).

  • Billing, processing payments, and managing appointment schedules.

  • Complying with legal and mandatory reporting obligations (e.g., subpoena, or duty of care where there is a serious and imminent risk of harm to yourself or others).

4. Disclosure of Personal Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only disclose information in these limited circumstances:

  • To other health professionals with your express, prior, written consent.

  • To third-party service providers (e.g., secure practice management software, booking systems) who are contractually bound to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles

  • Where required or authorised by Australian law (e.g., court subpoena, mandatory child protection reporting).

5. Accessing and Correcting Your Information (APP 12 & 13)

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request correction of that information.

  • Access: Requests must be made in writing. We will process requests within a reasonable timeframe and may charge an administrative fee for complex requests. Access may be declined if providing it poses a serious threat to the life or health of any individual, or the provision of that information breaches our privacy policy.

  • Correction: We take reasonable steps to ensure the information we use is accurate and complete. If you believe any information is inaccurate, please contact us immediately to have it updated.
